Your Guide to WhatsApp Group: How to Create, Join, Leave, and Add

Run the WhatsApp app on your phone. Look for the New chat button on your screen. This icon, similar to a plus sign message bubble, is usually found in the lower right corner of the screen.

In the New Chat menu, you will see the option New Group. You can click on this to start the group creation.

Now, it’s time to get creative! You can add people to your group by searching by name or scrolling through your contacts. Tap on each person you’d like to include in your group.

Once you’ve added your first group members, it’s time to customize your group. At the top of your screen, you’ll see a group subject bar. Tap on this bar to create a catchy and descriptive name. Then, tap on the group icon and select an image that best describes your group. You can use your phone’s camera, a gallery, or even search the web to find the perfect image.

Once you’ve added the name and the icon, you’re ready to go! Just click the Create button (check icon) at the bottom of your screen.

Open WhatsApp and go to your group chat. In the top right corner of the screen, you will see the group subject bar. Tap on this bar to open the group information menu.

In the group information menu, scroll down to view the list of members and the group management options

You can now add new members by searching by name or by scrolling through your contacts list. Click on each person's name to add them to your group.

Once you’ve chosen the people you want to join your group, click the Add button. The selected people will be added automatically to your group and will be notified when they’re ready to join.

Follow the step 1 above.

In the group information menu, look for Invite via Link. This will create a one-of-a-kind invitation for your group.

The link can be sent to anyone to include in your group. Copy and paste it into your chat or message. Share it directly through your app (applications vary on your phone). Email is the best way to send it.

Open the group chat and tap the group info.

Tap the Invite via Link. Use the methods above to send the invite link to the person you would like to invite.

You may get a group invite link in a message or email, or it may be sent to you directly or a code.

Before you join, you may see the group name, icon, and some of the people in the group. You can check this information to know if you should join the group.

Click the Chats tab at the bottom of your screen, and you’ll see a list of all your existing chats.

You may see a new chat message that says Group Invitation. If you don’t see it right away, look through your chat history and see if any messages have a group invite in them.

If you choose to join, click on the Join Group button, and you’ll be included in the group chat.

To quit a WhatsApp group, open the WhatsApp app and go to the group you want to leave. In the top right corner of the screen, you will see a group subject bar. Tap on this bar to open the group information menu.

Navigate to the group info menu, scroll down until you find the more option, and find the Exity Group option. Tap on it.

There may be a pop-up that asks you to confirm that you want to leave the group. Tap Exit Group again to confirm your choice.
